Tom Tramnitz
We are thrilled to welcome and introduce Tom Tramnitz to the Oxbow Team. Tom is a calm dude coming from Mayrhofen in the Austrian alps, who once on his snowboard lets his riding do the talking whether it’s in the pow, on a backcountry kicker, in the park or on side hits. He recently scored the opening segment of Schnitzel Time, the new video project with Austria's best riders, available on redbull.tv.
“Tom is without a doubt one of the most talented and stylish backcountry riders in Europe at the moment. With his very humble manner he’s never seeking the spotlight, but once you see him ride with all his ease and yet precision he truly stands out making crazy tricks look fun and easy.”
Elias Elhardt
Tom is definitely one of a kind. When you meet him for the first time he will be pretty shy but as soon as you know him a bit he is on full throttle and all his action speaks for him. Such a talent and boss on all boards. Every day with him is so appreciated, whether shredding, shooting or during downdays.”

How did you get hooked on snowboarding?
When I watched my big brothers snowboarding and also with them playing Cool Boarders and watching snowboard movies, it looked so cool.
When did you decide you wanted to ride as much as possible and put your energy into that direction ?
I'm lucky enough to have grown up in one of the most beautiful ski areas in Tyrol. I mean how cool, the Penken is practically right on my doorstep and the Hintertux glacier is only 30 minutes away and is open all year round, so I thought so Early on, these are the best conditions to make more of my biggest hobby and that's how everything started.
So I went every free minute to the mountains and with the age of thirteen I was super stoked when I got my first sponsors. Then I had a lot of up and down with injuries, where I thought I would not make it that far anymore. I just always rode for myself and had lot‘s of fun with my friends. Then we won a trip to Japan and did episodes. From that time on I knew I just wanted to stick on filming snowboarding with my homies.
Who are the people you look up too and why?
There are a lot - all the local heroes from the valley like Wolle, Steve, Beckna, Mone and many more but mostly Werni as he pushed me a lot and also showed me so much in the backcountry.
How do you think people perceive you ? What could they mention about you as a person, as a rider?
Haha I think they say mostly that I’m a calm guy - like talk less and ride more :)
If you weren’t snowboarding what would get you stoked on life?
Skateboarding and surfing as it’s as good as snowboarding :)
What’s your definition of style?
Less spins and rather stylish boned grabs

I love spring session because…it’s sunny and slushy.
I love riding my home resort park …because there are always homies around and the biggest jumps in Tyrol.
Snowboarding for me is…keeping me sane :)
What’s your goal for this season ?
To film a lot with my crew, learn some new tricks and most important having fun!
Any shout out ?
Thank you snowboarding
