2023... What a year. We say that every year, but this one has been pretty epic for us, and hopefully for you too.
A year punctuated by a whole host of events, we really haven't been bored, believe us.
2023 marks the year of our B corp certification, a certification that we have achieved at the cost of many challenges: more sustainable products thanks to our repair, maintenance and recycling programmes. More ecological design: with a collection made entirely in France, another in Europe, wetsuits made from Yulex and snow wear made from recycled materials. A stronger commitment to the community through various partnerships and actions. And greater transparency and traceability for our carbon footprint and our suppliers.
A great step forward, but we're not stopping there! We're all responsible for the planet we live on, and its interests are more than important to us outdoor enthusiasts.
2023 is the arrival of new talent in our team, as we continue to support the European surfing scene with : Vincent Duvignac, Miguel Blanco, Enak Gavaggio, Maëlle Duvillard, Saioa Lorentz, Coline Ménard and Camille Liets.
2023 also sees the release of several 100% Oxbow films: Mundaka the Legendary Day (with Kepa Acero), Obseassion (with Laure Mayer), Raw the Sound of Teahupo'o (with Gilbert Teave and Tahurai Henry), Switch (with Camille Juban), Sea Raven (with Boris Romann), Tem Caracois, Crossing Borders...
It's also an opportunity for us to bring you OXBOW MOVIE NIGHT, a tour of some twenty previews across France, Spain and Portugal.
2023 also saw the birth of the first Oxbow Banked Slalom, in Avoriaz.
Turns with friends, beers, a barbecue and fun. The snowboarding spirit we love.
2023 continues to support the local surf scene in the South West of France, with collaborations with Axel and Saioa Lorentz, Zaka Surfboards and ND. Designed and shaped in the South West in the colours of our collections. We've also travelled the West Coast, from Spain to Brittany, to give you the opportunity to try them out for free over a weekend as part of our DEMO TOUR.
2023 sees the opening of 3 new Oxbow shops in Bordeaux, Rennes and Lyon. 3 new shops that mark the end of an eventful year for our teams in the field, but what a pleasure it is to see new locations in new cities across France... Who's next?
2023 sees the opening of our first surf school: the OXBOW SURF SCHOOL in Seignosse. More than just a surf school for the summer holidays, the school offers a wide range of courses all year round with our riders (Lost in the Swell, Vincent Duvignac, Pierre Rollet and Coline Menard) as part of our YOU RIDE courses. You can now surf with our riders for a session or a weekend on different themes: big wave, longboard, barrels, etc.
A big thank you to everyone who makes these projects possible: riders, customers, partners, employees, but also friends and fans of the brand, ... Thank you for keeping the Oxbow spirit alive.
2024 is just around the corner, with some crazy projects and some great surprises that we hope will delight you!
