WELCOME VINCENT DUVIGNAC

Vincent Duvignac, a true legend of European free surf, needs no introduction. Some years ago, “Duvi” used to travel to all the spots in the world scoring great results in the international tour contests. He also built up a solid reputation in the tubes of Hossegor and Les Landes, epicentre of European tube riding. He is simply one of the best at the line-up when conditions are good, and even when they are oversized! He is a three-time winner of the La Nord competition, and the last winner of the Royal Barrique competition in 2022, which he had previously won in 2015. His longevity is proof that top level surfing is possible beyond the age of 30!

“Vincent is extremely passionate about surf and the ocean. His knowledge of spots and the sea is impressive. You can talk to him for hours about it. That is probably why he loves to spread his passion through his brother’s surf school in Mimizan, or every day with his young son”.

Duvi is also passionate about his region and its topography. He has studied the coast for years to find the best spots, always exploring on his fat bike in search of the perfect home wave. At the same time, he tries to reduce his impact on the environment, his dream but also his everyday routine.

“Duvi is simply one of the best free surfers of his generation. Nowadays he tries to keep a simpler focus on his practice. Surf trips are incredible opportunities to surf new waves and discover new cultures, we all know that. But adventure is not always on the other side of the planet. Vincent defends the mindset that happiness can be found at home and tries to inspire surfers to think so”.

An independent French brand, Oxbow bets on eco-responsibility, with wetsuits made of Yulex, clothing manufactured in Europe with recycled of natural fabrics, and even a range of product manufactured 100% in France, some of them in Vincent Duvignac’s Landes!

From its acquisition in 2020, Oxbow has set new values and goals. In addition to the ecological transition, the brand wants to bring back to the forefront the French “ride” culture, participating in many local actions. These are the values that Vincent identifies with.

“I met Ludo Dulou on the beach not long ago. We talked about the current surf scene, and about his sponsor, Oxbow. Their local and French focus and their independence seemed very attractive to me, quite admirable.

In recent years, I’ve loved seeing the comeback of the brand with a true surfing spirit, simple and with no embellishments. Oxbow is run by a team that loves their job, and you can tell. The athletes of the Oxbow team also embody this spirit. I know some of them very well, like Mathieu Crépel, Kepa Acero, Nono from Lost in the Swell, and the Landes locals Pierre Rollet and Boris Romann.

With a thirty-year history of passion for surf, I have grown up with Oxbow images. I saw my parents and my family wear those iconic jumpers and t-shirts. Today, it is a great motivation for me to free surf and participate in the evolution of the brand. It agrees with the message I want to carry around. It’s a great honour to join this team!”
